November focus for Canada West District

For the month of November, we will be focusing across our district on the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. We have a number of local ministries doing an incredible work across our district. Please visit the Communion Table to grab a prayer request leaf, an offering envelope or give online.

Rising Above (Grand Prairie, AB) is a Christ-centered ministry committed to helping people break cycles of defeat (anxiety, anger, addictions, past abuse, trauma, insecurities, low self-esteem, etc.)
Financial Need: Help with gift cards and Christmas Gifts for 33 participants - any amount.
Prayer: Wisdom and favor a we develop relationships with indigenous communities to help them provide Christian-based addiction treatment to their communities.

Siloam Mission (Winnipeg, MB) provides hope, recovery and transition through nutritious meals, warm showers, shelter and clothing. Also, recovery - physical , emotional, mental, spiritual and cultural. Ultimately we strive to transition out of homelessness. 
Financial Need: Arlene Wilson Recovery Centre - any amount
Prayer: God's help to raise funds to support operations - particularly the Arlene Wilson Recovery Centre.

The Den (Winnipeg, MB) exists as a safe place for those struggling with emotional and relational issues.
Financial Need: An elevator for wheelchair access - $14,000
Prayer: More laborer's who feel the call to work alongside the hurting.

Building Hope (Edmonton, AB) offers comfort and services to the poor, lonely, homeless by offering a foodbank, counselling, laundry, bus tickets, furniture, clothing, and meals.
Financial Need: warm clothing, supplies, services, day-to-day operations -any amount
Prayer: safety for workers and volunteers

Circle of Friends (Edmonton, AB) is focused on services for people with disabilities through a weekly worship service for people with developmental disabilities and their caregivers, "Employment University" , and Family peer-based support. 
Financial Need: Funding for mental health resources- especially relevant in isolation caused by the pandemic - any amount
Prayer: That we can optimally address and support the pressing needs of this community who have particularly struggled due to service disruption and isolation in the pandemic.

(Prince Albert, SK) Fresh Start seeks to alleviate the hardships of homelessness and poverty and to reduce the numbers of those who struggle daily with these hardships. 
Financial Need: Our own space to provide services - $5000 a month
Prayer: For Board members and volunteers with a heart for the work that have time, energy and Christlike compassion for those we serve.
